Every shoot is different. Once I know your shoot logistics, deliverables and licensing requirements, I'll provide a comprehensive quote.

A simplified rate typically includes:

• Photography fee (day rate)
• Two pre-production meetings, online or in person if you're in Qatar
• Retouching: a first draft with colour grading and clean-up, plus a second round of revisions following your review
• Secure online gallery hosting for one year
• RAW files archived with the photographer for two years
• Standard licence for use (see license)

Additional costs may include:

• Assistant
• Kit hire
• Props and backdrops
• Additional retouching or edits, invoiced hourly
• Travel expenses
• Licence and usage fees beyond the standard licence

Each commission includes a standard licence for the final images, covering:

• Duration: 12 months from first use
• Territory: The country of commission
• Media: Owned media (website, social channels, e-commerce and email), organic social, and standard print (brochures, catalogues, flyers and editorial)

Wider usage is quoted separately & takes into account:

• Media: where the images will run, such as billboards, covers, owned media, paid digital, packaging, point of sale, PR and more
• Territory: local, national, regional or worldwide
• Duration: how long the images will be in use (usually 1-3 years)
• Scale and volume: print run, circulation, campaign size and the number of images used
• Exclusivity: whether the images can be licensed to anyone else during the licence period. Exclusive licences are priced higher because they limit future use of the work.
• Placement: for example, a cover or hero placement compared with an inside page

Karen Dexter Photography retains full copyright of all photographs.

Self-promotion: I retain the right to use the images in my portfolio, website and social channels.

Buy-out / work-for-hire: These rates are only considered in exceptional circumstances, for clients who fully understand the process and the budget required.

Third-party use: This must be agreed directly with Karen Dexter Photography.

I travel extensively throughout the Middle East, UK and Europe, and will go worldwide if required.

Travel expenses are fully costed in your quote.
