Welcome to the WhiTE L...

(sorry wrong show)

Welcome to Zulal Wellness Resort.

I did crack that joke to my friends more times than was needed over the weekend (but only at our designated devices time).

I have recently had the absolute privilege of a weekend away at Zulal Wellness Resort in the North of the country and as always when there is something great in Qatar here are some photos and info for you to enjoy & hopefully inspire you to visit.

discovering family time.

Since it's opening in 2022 I have been intrigued by Zulal Resort & the experiences they offer, so I jumped a the chance to spend a weekend there with the pre teen daughter.

Just over an hour away from Doha it's far enough away to feel like a real break but close enough to pop up to sample the Discovery Experience with our aim for the weekend to hang out with each other & generally chill out without distractions from devices & work.

We definitely left 2 days later thoroughly chilled out, although I did sneak out with my camera a few times over the weeked... my excuse, I had to show how lovely it was & my kinda mindfulness is watching the light & capturing the little details I see.

There are no photographs of the treatments, consultations or family time as I really wanted to fully immerse myself in them & also out of respect for the other guests at the resort I was mindful of when & where I did take my camera.

Day 1 - arrival & consultation

With not really knowing what to expect it was lovely to arrive to a seamless check in & wellness consultation.

The House of Inspiration is your 1st stop with refreshments while you check in, all the food is sugar & gluten free but the biscuits passed the child test & have been declared "great! Even without sugar".

The tea offered depends on the time you arrive with a relaxing red tea with vanilla served after our late afternoon drive.

Our wellness consultation was conducted in the Discovery Oasis centre, where the majority of the family sessions are hosted is the perfect orientation point. While thorough it was still a chilled experience & we left with a considered & full schedule for the weekend, with a mix of family activities, personalised treatments & most importantly hang out time.

Accomodation was a family suite in Discovery Side complete with mum & daughter sized bath robes & slippers.. for the ultimate chill hang out.

Day 2 & 3 - eat. stretch. chill. repeat

Mornings were spent with a sunrise walk followed by a healthy filling breakfast, including the essential waffles or pancakes for the kids (approved). Then it was on to our separate activities with padel & ceramics for Amy. For me a super stretch session in the lakeside private yoga studio followed by an invigorating massage & on day 2 a full body Tadleek (massage) and, my favourite, Al-Ra's head massage all in the Serenity side of the resort.

Zulal is split into 2 distinct sides, Discovery for families & Serenity for adults only. There are bikes all around the resort which you can pick up & ride to your destination then leave for the next guest to use. I loved discovering the adults only side & as with everywhere in Qatar felt perfectly content & safe leaving my daughter to do her own thing while I explored & relaxed. The only thing I would say is the House of Wisdom Library in Serenity is absolutely wasted on the adults, any library with shelves so high it needs a sliding ladder is a nearly 12 year old Potterheads dream.

When you are there make sure to take a wander round & check out what is going on, it seems deceptively quiet but there is something interesting to discover in every space, for example they have visiting practitioners you can book full or taster sessions in addittion to the already thorough offering, I joined the breathwork session by Anne-Christin Weigels which is something I have been wanting to try for a while & so was the perfect opportunity to experience. Also in residence is Donato Panaccio a sound therapist & all round wonderful person to chat to.

Afternoons consisted of more lovely food. They do have a kids menu but the full menu was a bigger hit with us & the lunch buffet was a real winner, especially the daily mocktails & mini desserts.

The schedule later in the day was focused on family connection time with floating meditation, bike rides & space for hanging out, playing games & reading by the pool.

We had a great resort tour by Leon who told us all about the walks you can take to see the flamingos in the mangroves, stargazing & the fire pits they light in the warmer evenings.

We will be back as there is so much to experience, there is also a lot more I could say about the place but my speciality is photos so check out the gallery below & I hope it inspires you to book your Zulal stay.
